From giving users in Metro Manila access to seamless payment solutions using their GCash app, the country’s leading e-wallet, is now extending its reach to the Visayas and Mindanao (VisMin) region by building partnerships and ecosystems with LGUs through GCash Pay Bills.
True to its mission of providing “financial inclusion for
all,” GCash has enabled VisMin customers in the said regions to pay their bills
and send payments from the comfort and safety of their homes anytime, offering
greater convenience and empowering a digital financial lifestyle in the region.
“GCash remains committed to its mission to enable financial
access for all consumers and merchants, including those in Visayas and
Mindanao. Aside from financial inclusion, GCash continues to provide Filipinos
with seamless access to their digital financial lifestyle and help keep them
safe during the pandemic,” said Martha Sazon, President and CEO of GCash.
Traditionally, e-payment penetration at VisMin regions have
been low, particularly attributable to lack of access to proper infrastructure,
and education and awareness on new payment technologies. But with GCash, both
consumers and businesses can benefit because of the app’s easy to use nature
for consumers, and an easier integration process for businesses.
Recently, GCash has onboarded Lapu-lapu City as its
first LGU bills payment partner in the
VisMin region. With the partnership,
Lapu-lapu residents and business owners can now use GCash to pay for their real
property tax, business tax, cedula and other fees.
GCash currently covers 49 VisMin billers, including
utilities, schools, real estate, loans, and regularly adds more. VisMin
