To cultivate respect, fairness, and positive recognition of
differences among its employees, AXA Philippines has introduced a series of
programs that aim to promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
“AXA Philippines highly values inclusivity and diversity in
the workplace, even moreso now as we face these difficult times. By celebrating
the differences and uniqueness of our employees, we are allowing them to thrive
and grow personally and at work,” said Rahul Hora, AXA Philippines president
and chief executive officer.
To further strengthen its commitment to inclusion and
diversity, AXA has implemented the Zero Tolerance Discrimination policy, as
well as free sign language classes for employees to help prepare the
organization for inclusive hiring. In addition, AXA empowers employees through
groups like allies@axapride,and WoMen@axa.
AXA Philippines has also been shining the spotlight on mental
health through the #HowAreYou Mental Health Awareness campaign to encourage
open and honest conversations on mental health among the employees, its
clients, and the community at large. The organization also provides learning
modules to increase employees’ awareness on mental health and how to deal with
it.
As part of its corporate social responsibility programs, AXA
has partnered with non-government organizations, such as Project Inclusion for
persons with disabilities and Best Buddies for persons with intellectual
disabilities.
Furthermore, among its initiatives is the Parent Policy,
which was launched in 2017, making it one of the first local inclusive policies
for employees which removes gender bias of maternal or paternal policy complete
with a 112-day maternity leave.
“AXA Philippines always strives to maintain a culture that
does not alienate anyone. With our policies, trainings, projects, and
leadership, we make sure that our company is not only accepting and open for
all—this inclusion of thoughts and ideas becomes our competitive advantage,”
said Jaspreet Kakar, AXA Philippines chief human resource officer.
While AXA Philippines already has diversity and inclusion
initiatives in place, it will also continue to develop and evolve with the
ever-changing social landscape through initiatives that value their employees
and the communities’ differences and helps protect them, especially amid these
difficult times.
