Casa
de Memoria will be ushering in its first auction of the year with an experience
that will take bidders on an exciting artistic and historic journey through
Europe and Asia.
Happening
on March 20 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the Primero auction event will
feature a total of 200 specially curated antiquities and objets d’art that will
surely be pièce de résistance in any home.
Highlights
of the auction include vintage pieces of furniture for a luxurious touch in
your living space. Some examples are the 19th century Italian paper desk in
ebonized wood with ivory and bone inlay depicting Renaissance Revival elements;
the Spanish ivory-inlaid small table with foliage, bird, and fruit motifs; and
the mahogany veneer cabinet that comes with a 137-piece silver flatware set.
Some
of the other highlight lots of the auction reflect Chinese artistry. Chief

from China, this magnificent display is a Chaozhou woodcarving depicting a
two-tiered temple with warriors and royal attendants, with the emperor as
central figure. This piece has a starting bid of Php 120,000. Another piece
that may interest collectors is the Qing Dynasty famille rose ginger jars with
pedestals with an initial price of Php 420,000.
Primero
will also showcase the masterful creations of revered artists from the
Philippines and other parts of the world such as "Los Hocinos" by
Fernando Zobel and "Modèle et grande tête sculptée" Etching from
"La Suite Vollard" by Pablo Picasso, with starting bids of Php 80,000
and Php 60,000, respectively. Other must-see paintings and artworks at the
auction include "Marilyn Monroe" by Andy Warhol, "Le
Funambule" by Jean Cocteau, and "Vase of Flowers" by Jose María
Armengol Farré.
Aside
from these, more rare antiques, decorative art pieces, and collectibles,
